Dr. Paul Phipps, President of CMT, and Tom Epply Senior Vice President of Engineering for CMT, attended the 2009 International Workshop on Research in Active Safety Technology. The event was sponsored by TASI (Transportation Active Safety Institute), and the conference was held at IUPUI, Indianapolis.
Dr. Phipps stated, "One of the major issues the conference addressed was accident benefit analysis and using the many automotive smart systems prior to the accident not after the accident." Tom Epply further noted, "Fusing data from multiple interior sensors to get a better sense of what the driver is doing before something happens is extremely important."
Dr. Phipps presented on "Active Seat Research" as it relates to Comfort Motion Technology software. He covered the review of Ball State CMT testing for increased comfort and blood flow to the lower extremities. CMT provides all this and more to vehicle occupants.
