October 2, 2008 CMT Addresses Tech Summit

Tech Summit 08 focused on the future of advancing entrepreneurship and innovation across the state. About 1000 of Indiana's best and brightest entrepreneurs attended workshops and panels and perused more than 13,000 square feet of trade show exhibits. They also heard presentations from nationally renowned keynote speakers including Scott Jones, Chairman & CEO, Cha Cha.

Six different workshops were conducted by high-profile Indiana based entrepreneurs who presented practical advice and lessons learned while creating new companies.

CMT participated in the Inventing & Innovation Process Workshop where Alan Rowley, Senior Vice President of Commercialization, addressed a very attentive group on the various steps involved with the creation of CMT.

Rowley touched on several important topics such as finding and addressing a real sustainable market, managing finances, finding the right kind of investors, the importance of having a solid business plan and protecting your intellectual property.

Participants were invited to ask questions throughout the presentation, which created a good exchange of ideas and suggestions.

CMT will be participating in more of these types of events in the future.
